Spring is when we come out of winter and we start to see signs that world around starting to open up again.

Usually when are on our San Francisco Food Tour of North Beach\Little Italy and Chinatown this time of year, we can look around and see the signs of spring, whether it is flowers or the foods that some into market.  Right now, as we are hanging around the house, it takes some effort to see those signs.  And, for many of us, that is important. Spring is when we come out of winter and we start to see signs that world around starting to open up again.

So many of us, the question is how to start to feel like it’s spring again.  One way is to cook something that has a bright flavor to it, such as lemon.  Another way to do things that help to make yourself feel better.  It’s amazing how much some exercise helps that. If you don’t have any exercise equipment at home, walking is a great exercise.  If it’s outside, just make sure that you practice social distancing. And do simple things for yourself, something as simple as taking a shower helps.  If you’re by yourself, try to connect with others using some online tools.  Most of the religious institutions are having online services and many neighborhood organizations are connecting neighbors online as well.

While we may miss the signs of spring on our San Francisco Food Tours, we can do things for ourselves that help us have more a spring-like attitude.  Taking care of yourself, physically and mentally is the best way to do that.
