Last week, we celebrated the Chinese New Years parade on our San Francisco Food Tours.  That time of year, we get to enjoy some special foods for the celebration, such as Chinese New Years Cake.  This year is the Year of the Rooster. Roosters are energetic and trustworthy.  Energetic and trustworthy has a lot to do with our being the Best San Francisco Food Tours.  It requires us to continually evaluate how we can get better.  It requires us to honest about what works and what does not work.

Honestly requires looking at oneself first, rather than blaming others.  It’s easy to find someone else to blame. We see that on a national level when people look to blame someone else for their problems, rather than look at themselves.   For example, if you know that you need to exercise, than no one else can make than change other yourself.  The same goes for other things.  More often, if one is honest with oneself, one can find things within oneself to make your self better.  Blaming some group is usually just a way to not look at oneself.

Perhaps we can hope that other people in our country will see the Year of the Rooster as an opportunity to look at them selves.  If someone blames some else for a problem of their own making, it does not make the problem go away, it just allows it fester and gets worse.   It is like have a cancerous disease, ignoring does not make it go away.  If it is detected early, it can usually be treated.  Ignoring it just has it grow to a point that it becomes harder and harder to cure.  Perhaps that is what we can learn from the Year of the Rooster.
