The question comes down to whether we will be taken along to the future or whether we will fashion the future. The future will either be one that we become more and more separated or will we come together. We think that the actions that we take can have a real impact on that. Whether we will let other tap into our fears or whether we will stand up to these people and let them know that is not who we are. When we stand up for the rights of others, we are, in fact, defending our own rights. If we don’t stand up for them, there will be no one left to stand up for us.
If we the future as dark and scary, it will match our expectations. If we view the future as hopeful, it will grow in that vision. If we believe that a bright future involves lifting everyone else up, it will match that vision. If we think that only some of can come along to a bright future, we will likely find that none of us find that future. We may have the Best San Francisco Food Tours, but that comes because we believe that everyone else needs to benefit from our tours. That is how we have bright future; we look to see how everyone else can benefit and how we can lift everyone else up.
