With the coming of summer it seems like we are seeing more people joining us on San Francisco Food Tours. We’re people from all over, so it is always great to get perspectives from people from all over the world. One big question we get it how do we feel about what is coming out of Washington, especially on issues of climate change. The honest answer is that it seems bizarre to us. Most scientists are talking about the possibility of having the type of changes that could make many parts of our planets inhabitable and the rest of the plant barely habitable.

The signs of climate change are all around us. We’ve had the some of the hottest summers on record and some of the coldest winters on record. Our polar ice caps are melting and the rise in sea levels could flood parts of major cities. So the obvious question is why deny the obvious? We are already seeing the effects of climate change. If there is an economic reason, it is at best short term. Long term companies, utilities and whole countries are going to renewable energy. In additional to being very polluting, no one is going to buying coal in the future. And by the future, we are talking about a matter of years. So, to put it mildly, it makes no sense.

We are working to have the Best San Francisco Food Tours, and you can only do that facing reality on a daily basis. There is more than enough ample proof of climate change and we have one of two choices, face up to it and try to mitigate the effects of it or ignore it and deal with the consequences. Those are the only real choices.
