This time of year, so many things are coming into season in the San Francisco Bay Area. From artichokes to asparagus and more, this time of year is a great time in our area.

If you like to cook, like I do, you are in heaven right now. I’m one of those people who likes to shop on a daily basis. I like to go to the market and see what is fresh and then I figure out what I am going to make. I dislike cooking from a recipe, as it assumes that ingredients in the recipe are fresh. If something is not fresh, about the only thing you can do is cover up the food. If something is fresh, you do not need to do much to it, it already tastes great on its own.

On our San Francisco Food Tours, we love to add in the foods of the season. The good news is so do our stops, so as the season progresses, we keep seeing the foods on our tours change to match what is in season.

The best way to describe our cooking style is to take advantage of all of the local goods in our area, then try to do as little as we can to them. Given that almost anything you can imagine can and does grow in Northern California, the result is that we can always eat what is seasonal and local. It makes for some great foods at our homes and our tours.
