Homemade Burgers

MAR
212016

While I’m at home from our San Francisco Food Tour of North Beach\Little Italy and Chinatown, sometimes I have a desire for something as simple as a burger.  For me, having a burger is not always that simple.  While sometimes I like a burger, a burger can be a variety of thing for me.  It’s not necessarily a beef burger.  Sometimes I like to use ground turkey or ground chicken.  It can also be a vegetable burger, such as vegetarian burgers that one can find at a grocery store.  Additionally, burgers can be a great way to leftovers, such as risotto or other  leftovers such as leftovers vegetables.  For leftover vegetables, an easy to create a burger is to mix it with some breadcrumbs, and something to hold it all together, such as eggs.  After forming them into patties, I can just sauté them until they brown nicely on both sides.  It’s great to have with a salad in in a hamburger bun.

On our San Francisco Food Tours, it always  fun and delicious to see how all of stops come up their own dishes.  More often than not, it’s when they look at what they have on hand and then they come up with some new creation.  And, for us, it always delicious trying their new creations.
