It is also time for a San Francisco Food Time, the perfect setting for romance, the combination of food and a great tour. We have incredible clean water and air, which makes for the perfect combination. And yet, as we have our San Francisco Food Tours, we are reminded that clean air and clean water is something that most of the world can only dream about. Things that most of us take for granted.
We take having food and water easily accessible as a given. For most of the world that is not true. As we shop in our supermarkets or enjoy dinner at a restaurant, we take all of this for granted. We also assume that it either can’t or won’t go away.
As we start to see the effects of climate change all of this could change. Hotter summers mean that many of the crops that we are used simply burn up in the heat, animals can’t get enough water or food. Winters last longer and are more severe, so that growing seasons are shorter.
In the end, we have less food and water. So, all of the problems that happened somewhere else are happening to us. All of the things that we fooled ourselves to not caring about are happening to us. All of the things that we thought we would not have to worry about are happening right now. So, in the end, climate change does affect us all. And maybe, we do not have the luxury of ignoring it. If we ignore climate change, those other people who do not have water, food, or air, are us.
